This will most likely increase the difficulty a lot because there will be lots of things to manage on just a single planet (crime, societal stability and so on). The next update will completely overhaul how planets work, a new galactic market gets added (with a slave market), it also seems like new resource systems come into the game but that update will take some time until it's released (some guessed it will take roughly 5 - 6 months since the first dev diaries started). Also, a big part of the game is exploring, this covers the early and mid game, you can discover anomalies (they can be little 'story lines'), search for valuable systems, with the Distant Stars DLC you an also discover a part outside of the galaxy, or you go hunting - with the Leviathans DLC there are 'boss alien monsters' around that are especially strong and let you gain new technologies.ĭiplomacy is sadly a little scarce right now but they will probably do something in that area.
